Ace Combat 8 MRP Guide — What It Is & Best Farm

MRP means Military Result Points — the campaign currency you spend on the Aircraft Tree (jets, parts, special weapons). It banks only when you finish a sortie. Best repeatable farm: Mission 28 — A Thousand Points of Light in Free Mission, rearming at Cima Island, on the highest difficulty you clear cleanly (Ace ×1.5 once unlocked). Trophy milestones 16,000,000 and 25,000,000 track lifetime earned MRP — spending your balance does not reset them.

What is MRP in Ace Combat 8?
MRP (Military Result Points) is Ace Combat 8’s campaign “money.” Use it to buy aircraft, Body/Arms/Misc parts, and special weapons on the Aircraft Tree. Players also search it as AC8 money, currency, or grind points — same thing.
- Earned from: campaign and Free Mission sorties (score + bonuses).
- Spent on: Aircraft Tree nodes — see tree guide and aircraft list.
- Not the same as: Ace Combat Online XP, Ace Pass levels, Ace Coins, or Ace Extras — those are Online systems (Ace Pass · Online hub).
How MRP banks
- Credited when you finish the sortie through results — quitting mid-run earns nothing.
- Higher difficulty generally pays more; Ace ×1.5 is the top published farm multiplier once you can clear cleanly.
- A first campaign clear often lands around a few million MRP depending on difficulty/performance — not enough for a finished Tree alone.
- New Game Plus keeps Tree purchases / MRP progress for a second story pass.
Difficulty multipliers (farm payout)
| Difficulty | Reported MRP multiplier | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Casual / Rookie-tier | ×0.8 | Lowest payout |
| Mid settings (Pilot–Elite) | ×1.0–higher | Climb when you still finish cleanly |
| Ace | ×1.5 | Best farm rate; unlock by clearing campaign on Elite |
Use the highest difficulty you can finish without fails. A slow or dead Ace run often earns less per real minute than a fast Veteran/Elite clear.
Best mission to farm MRP — Mission 28
Mission 28 “A Thousand Points of Light” (Operation Locust Purge) is the standard late-game MRP farm: dense aircraft targets over Cima Island plus an airstrip so you can land, rearm, and keep fighting in one sortie.
- Unlock Mission 28, then replay it in Free Mission.
- Bring a strong multi-lock AA jet (community favorites: 4AAM / 6AAM-style SPW on a jet you already fly well — see best aircraft).
- Prioritize bombers and urgent threats over random fighters — score stays high and the island stays alive.
- When ammo runs low and the base is ready, rearm at Cima Island, take off, continue. Don’t empty the sortie and fail.
- Always finish through the results screen so MRP banks.
- On Ace, repeat for the 16M / 25M lifetime trophies. Learn the Shadow 22 gun cycle so late-phase deaths don’t wipe long farms.

Early-game MRP (before Mission 28)
- Play the campaign on the highest difficulty you can clear — natural MRP funds your first Tree branch (F-35C route tips on Aircraft Tree).
- Buy nodes that unlock the next mission’s SPW/role — not vanity parts first.
- Optional mid-game Free Mission replays (dense air/ground sorties) help gate jets, but pivot to Mission 28 once it unlocks for the long grind.
16M / 25M MRP trophies (cumulative earned)
| Milestone | Total MRP earned | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Need A Bigger Bank | 16,000,000 | Lifetime checkpoint |
| MRP Aplenty | 25,000,000 | Full money trophy |
These track lifetime MRP earned, not the cash sitting in your wallet. Spend freely on Tree unlocks — purchases do not wipe trophy progress. See trophies for the wider platinum path.
Start dedicated Mission 28 farming after mission-specific cleanup (S-ranks, medals, Assault Records) is mostly done, so each farm also pushes kill counters when possible.
Spend order (what to buy with MRP)
- Multirole path that covers air + ground (Tree F-35C route is a solid default).
- Airframes you actually fly for farm and S-ranks.
- SP weapons that match Mission 28 / S-rank needs.
- Endgame jets (e.g. X-40 Nightmare, FA-36) after campaign gates open.
- Drop tanks / vanity parts last — drop tanks don’t raise farm rate.
FAQ
What is MRP in Ace Combat 8?
Military Result Points — campaign currency for the Aircraft Tree (planes, parts, special weapons).
What is the best mission to farm MRP?
Mission 28 in Free Mission, with Cima Island rearm loops, on the highest difficulty you clear cleanly (Ace when ready).
How do you farm / grind MRP fast?
Finish sorties (don’t quit), raise difficulty for the multiplier, then repeat Mission 28 with multi-lock AA and mid-mission rearm.
Does higher difficulty give more MRP?
Yes. Ace is about ×1.5; Casual about ×0.8. Only helps if you still finish the mission.
Do I need to save 25 million MRP without spending?
No. 16M and 25M trophies count total earned. Spending on the Tree is fine.
Does Online or Ace Pass give campaign MRP?
No. Online / Ace Pass progression is separate from campaign MRP.
How much MRP to unlock all planes?
Aircraft buys alone are on the order of ~8.9M MRP before connecting parts — see Aircraft Tree. Preorder and Ace Pass jets are separate.
