Ace Combat 8 Land Battleship Guide
Land Battleships are Ace Combat 8’s rolling superweapons — multi-phase ground dreadnoughts with CIWS, escorts, and scripted armor states. You fight them hardest in Mission 09 (blockade) and Mission 17 (No. 3). Late story also puts a nuclear Land Battleship under Moon 11 / Selene’s Tonitrus Spear guidance in Mission 29.

Mission 09 — destroy the blockade battleship
- Strip CIWS / casemates with missiles before SOD/AoE spam pays off on the hull.
- Protect IED / bomb trucks at slowdown lines — kill quadcopter UAVs the second they launch or trucks die and plating stays up.
- Need four successful detonations per side to expose tread armor, then destroy each sub-caterpillar with missiles.
- If you kill all eight sub-caterpillars before the second slowdown line, ace Judex spawns (Veteran+).
- Late phase: trigger the building-chain explosion when radio calls it, then destroy the two port thrusters (multi-hit each) to finish the ship.
Loadout: ground AoE (FA-36 + SOD is a common Free Mission pick) + enough AA for UAV waves. Tree: best aircraft · MRP.

Targeting tips (all LB fights)
- Hexagonal ground TDs often mark CIWS / subsystems you can delete individually.
- Don’t hug the deck under CIWS — altitude changes + short attack runs.
- Wingman Attack on escorts; you stay on the scripted armor states.
